A Listening Church: Autonomy and Communion in African Churches
      Author: Elochukwu E. Uzukwu
      Rating: 5
Review: This book looks at religion on a regional basis. The Author is one of the first African's I've read or heard from that places as much blame on slavery on his own people and Europeans as he does on the Americans. He goes into detail on how he would like to see the Catholic Church improve their presence in Africa by allowing the traditions and history of Africa show within the Liturgy of the Church. I fully agree with his concepts and feel that the Church should do so across all of it's areas!

    • My Life With the Saints
      My Life With the Saints
      Author: James Martin
      Rating: 5
Review: "My Life with the Saints" by Father James Martin, SJ (Jesuit Priest) was well written. In this book Fr. James explains why knowing about the Saints is important in life, and then shows how one can learn from what the Saints did and didn't do in life. He goes on to explain that praying to a Saint is not idolizing them or breaking faith the God, but that you are asking him/her to intercede on your behalf with God the Father. He shows us the life of a few Saints, and how they have played a part in his life. He goes on at the end of the book to tell you where you can find out about these Saints in more detail as well as other Saints. Well worth the read!

    • We Worship: A Guide To The Catholic Mass
We Worship: A Guide To The Catholic Mass
      Author: Oscar Lukefahr
      Rating: 5
Review: This is a well written book that I recommend for those new to the Catholic Faith AND to those that were "born" into the faith. Father Lukefahr writes in such a way that everything is clear and very understandable. He also brings a lot of history into the book, without looking like it! You can also partake in a "review" and see if your answers are right by going to http://www.amm.org/chss.htm and signing up for the class. You get the book, and workbook for free, but you really should help out the Father and Group by donating to them! Enjoy and happy learning!

Fort Myers Beach, FL - Part 2 March 12th, 2007

When my friend and I were on the beach this past weekend, we had the fun of getting less than a foot away from this pelican:

This bird was very interested in my friend and I, but as soon as ANYONE else got close, it would take off.

Of course I had left my “real” camera in the car, but took these two pics with the Palm 650. Not too bad, if I do say so myself.
Enjoy!

Fort Myers Beach, FL March 12th, 2007

I finally got to get back to Fort Myers to see my friend who lives there. This time I was ahead of schedule and had my camera, but again, Alligator Alley did not want to cooperate with me. The water was WAY down, and I did not see many if any alligators I could take a picture of.

My friend and I did go to this beach and we walked along it’s shores and talked a lot!
