Touching the Holy: Ordinariness, Self-Esteem, and Friendship
Author: Robert J. Wicks
Rating: 5
Review: Mr. Wicks takes you deep within yourself and helps you find your place with God by having you look at yourself in detail. He then helps you by showing you who to have in your life as "mentors" and advisers. I highly recommend this book to anyone in Religious life, or who has a strong Religious Life.
Saint Francis of Assisi
Author: G.K. Chesterton
Rating: 2
Review: In a book of 149 pages supposedly on the the topic of Saint Francis of Assisi, you would think that you would start hearing about the life of Saint Francis before page 94. This book was more on the Author's thoughts of the time, and less on St. Francis. From page 94 to the end he did finally start sharing some of the life of St. Francis, but it left me wondering how much of what he wrote was solid or conjecture based on his ideas of the time of St. Francis. Not a book I will recommend to anyone.
Vatican Council II: Constitutions, Decrees, Declarations (Vatican Council II) (Vatican Council II)
Author:
Rating: 5
Review: A very enlightening book on the dogma and thought processes of the Roman Catholic Church. This is a must read for every Catholic person in the world, as well as every non-Catholic person of any religion! There is much in this book that I bet many "practicing" Catholics are not aware of. Please read, one and all!
Well, I have talked about inBubbleWrap a couple of times (here and here for example) and how good they are to their followers, such as me. I have won a total of seven books from these folks, all front line, new books, and all but one was pretty good. (And I’m sure many would have liked that one, but I didn’t.)
Anyway, today is their last day, and they are shutting down and moving on. Pretty sad for me as I like to read, and love getting free books, or rather getting free books for answering two silly questions that expect silly answers.
I wish the inBubbleFolks luck in their next ventures!
A few weeks ago my oldest son Marc graduated from high school!
My parents, , and my two brothers and some of their family, , were able to go and visit with him and take pictures for me since my X had made sure I couldn’t go.
They had a good time and were able to talk with both sons, including Jonathan:
Well folks, I am happy to announce that I FINALLY got the photo album back up at http://www.tdbellenterprises.com/gallery. I will now restore some of my older messages, with the same time stamp as before that had imbedded pictures in them.
Yesterday I helped a friend out by driving him to Fort Myers (about 2 hours away) since he had a broken shoulder and was having problems driving. After his interview he brought up going to Thomas Edison’s and Henry Ford’s Winter Houses. I had NO clue either had a house down here in South Florida!
After a few minutes of driving he directed us right to the spot.
Low and behold there was a pretty nice house (especially for that time frame) right beside the Gulf, with the attached guest house (attached by a covered walkway) of the Edison Family, and the not so nice, but still large house next to that of Henry Ford. Across the street from Edison’s house was a long building that housed his lab.
His Lab
Now this lab was not the lab he used to work with electricity (although he had one to the side of his house for that at one time, which was uprooted by Mr. Ford and taken to Ford’s museum up north) , but was a “chemical lab” where he did extensive research and development with botany. He created this lab and began working in it at 80 years of age, which is equivalant to someone that is about 100 now!
This just amazed me! Add to that, I read that he was the inventor of the moving picture or movies! He had something like 182 patents in his life!
After a bit over a year, it FINALLY happened! Interactive Digital Multimedia, Inc. has finally gone public. The great day was this past Friday at 1000 hours! The trading symbol is IDMU and it is an OTC stock at this time. The goal of the company is to be able to trade on the “Open NASD” market within 24 months! Yes, it may be a penny stock now, but I am betting it won’t be within a few months!
This company has a great product, the best digital book format you will find, that can help the reader learn more and retain more!
A new friend of mine, Br. Norman Embree has a pretty good religious articles store that I would like to bring to your attention.
It is based in Fort Lauderdale Florida area at the SE corner of NE 38th Street and Dixie Highway between Oakland Park and Commercial Boulevards, in Oakland Park Florida. (Phone number of 1-866-339-8884.) And he has a web site at http://www.everythingcatholicfl.com/.
His prices are great, his attitude is outstanding, and he knows his stuff.
So, if you need those religous books, crucifixes, First Holy Communion items, etc., please do check him out!
