President Obama and his birth certificate…

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/38914715#38914715
In this he says, and I paraphrase, he doesn’t time to go around with his birth certificate plastered on his face.
My question is, has it ever been shown yet, to the people of the US that is, and why does he think we want him to plaster it on his face, rather than in newspapers, and on the air? In a manner that we can verify that he was in fact born in the US, and not in Africa as his Doctor that was there has said, his Grandmother has said (early on, now she says Hawaii), and those that were there have said?

I don’t know why it matters so much if Obama was born in Africa or not; His mother was a US citizen and therefore, even if she was in Africa to have him, by default, he’d be a US citizen.

Jamie, That is only partially true, he would have dual citizenship, and would have to formally renounce his African citizenship in writing, which there is not existing (that I am aware of) document of that sort. In some of my readings, at the time his mother was in Africa, she had renounced (although later got it back?) US citizenship at the request of her husband. So that opens a new can of worms. Either way, why not show his “legit” birth certificate? Any other President would.

This question keeps coming up. What I can’t understand is why he was not required to prove he is a US citizen before becoming a Presidential candidate. Even in backward South Africa I cannot even vote or get a telephone without my identity document which was only issued after my birth certificate and proof of citizenship (I am not South African born) was supplied.

His birth certificate was posted on the campaign’s website months before the election because of all the insane furor. Why this is even an issue is beyond me. The birth certificate, the newspaper birth notices, his mother’s family, his school records all show he was born in Hawaii. It is an absolute falsehood that his records were not open to scrunity.
Hawaii had so many unnecessary demands for copies of his birth certificate that they had to pass special legislation allowing them to deny further requests because of the cost.
No other president (or candidate) has been treated in this way.

Laurie, true, documents were posted on his web site before election, however the archived papers the birth notices were supposedly posted in did not show the ad on any page, the birth certificate that was shown was not what was used at the time of birth at that time in Hawaii, and there were many other issues with the documents that did not pass scrutiny. He did live in Hawaii for some of his schooling, but not his earlier years, just his later years of school. His grandmother, early on said he was born in Africa, and quickly changed her story.
There are MANY items showing that there are issues here.
No other President or candidate has had to put up with this, as their documentation was presented correctly, on time, and without issues. Their problems were in other legal issues though, so it is not like Obama is being selected to be bullied on. Almost every President and candidate has had to fight issues about their past. Most successfully do or are removed from the running. Obama has NOT successfully resolved this issue and a few others.
In that interview, he never did answer to the status of his Muslim beliefs (as to if he had them or not), but only answered to the birth certificate in a flip way. He has issues that need resolved, and he is not resolving them to a growing majority of the US populations satisfaction.

Like Jackie I live in a country where ID papers are very important for everything. Rob and I discussed this at length the other day and it seems logical that he’d have to present certain documents before being sworn in as President. Especially in this age of identity theft – perhaps we shouldn’t stir that one up…

The state of Hawaii has issued a certified copy of the birth certificate. The governor of Hawaii has certified the validity of the birth certificate. And newspaper archives have been published which show birth announcements which state Obama was born in a hospital there. For anyone else, the above would be accepted with no question. Especially the certified copy of the certificate issued by the state of Hawaii. But don’t let the facts confuse you. Keep dredging up the same old tired garbage two years after the election is over.

Rambler,
While I would love to believe that he was born in Hawaii, there are too many factors that still aren’t answered. The Governor of Hawaii certified a current version of a birth certificate, not one generated in the year that the President was born. The doctor that says he delivered the President in Africa is still saying he did so, and that hospital has documents dated correctly and signed correctly saying that he was born there. His Grandmother stated early on, until the President, while a Candidate showed up at her house and spent time with her, that he was born in Africa. While Snopes.com and FactCheck.com are decent sources of information, they are not overly authoritative on many subjects and do not cross check their data using standard source verification processes that I was taught by the government anyway. All that said, he is our President, and I will defend him from physical attack (if I were in his area at the time), but I still challenge his legal birth status, and question why he was kept his original certificate of birth hidden from the public? There is a “new version” post 1993 that is available for review, but not one from his year of birth.

By the way, don’t take my word for it. Go to FactCheck.org, or Snopes.com and check the links and the information they have that debunk the Obama birth certificate fraud claims. FactCheck.org went to the trouble of sending staffers to inspect the newspaper archives and the original birth certificate in Hawaii. Somehow, I doubt that even these sources will change your mind.

FactCheck was denied access to the original birth certificates, and the archives were missing for the entire year that the President was born, according to what they originally posted on their website, and changed 8 hours later. See earlier reply on both FactCheck and Snopes.
