My ramblings as I move forward in my life Journey.

The Fence…

Arizona, and many other people, want to put up a wide, long fence along the boarder from Mexico to the US. THIS I DON”T agree with… A fence is not the way to do things, look at the wall in Berlin. Bad move!

A fence is bad on many levels, but the worse two are one it is non-inviting, and I do think LEGAL immigration into the US is a must and should be allowed, the wall helps block that, and second is a wall keeps in as well as out, and it puts into a place a blockade to people wanting to travel away from the US.

By this later I mean: The wall will be a reason to not allow US Citizens permission to enter Mexico for a vacation, or to visit, etc. And it could anger other Nations as well, causing them to be less interested in allowing us to travel to their countries to visit. It just plain keeps US in USofA on many levels.

I am all for legal immigration and visits to the USofA. Immigration is important to our growth, as it has from the beginning. But it must be LEGAL and TOTAL immigration. Many years ago the English language (which wasn’t even the most common language, German was) was selected as the National Language. And for many years new immigrants that came into the USofA and applied for citizenship, learned the language so they could understand our laws and ways, and to understand one another. New citizens, prior to taking their oath of citizenship were, and supposedly stall are, required to learn our laws and a bit about our history. When they became citizens of the USofA, they agreed to speak our language, live by our laws, pay our taxes, and live as US Citizens, and not Citizens of their prior Nation.

I am all for giving those illegal aliens in our nation now six or so months to learn our language, learn our laws, agree to live by our laws, pay their taxes, and take on the role of a citizen of the USofA in supporting the Nation. I don’t require them to forget their old Nation, and I have no problem with them sending money back to family “left behind”. I have no problem with them working for less wages that other US citizens, if that is what they want to do (that is another whole post some day of it’s own…).

My only problem is that they are here illegally, don’t want to learn our language, demand that we learn theirs, don’t pay taxes, yet receive benefits (and DEMAND them!) from our tax revenues.

The wall won’t stop any of that, nor will it make them legally immigrate…

NO on the WALL!

Illegal Aliens…

In just about every nation on Earth, there are laws about people from other nations coming into that nation illegally. In all that I have read or heard about, including Mexico, the person that is found to be in the country illegally is arrested, and sent back to their “home” as soon as possible. Mexico is one of the biggest nations to do this, as they have a problem of people coming from down south, passing through on their way to the US in hopes of landing a job and gaining their freedom. On the way, they stop to work or rest and to find a way across the border into the US.

Here is a rough outline of Mexico’s Laws on immigration and illegal aliens:

1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.

2. All ballots will be in this nation’s language.

3. All government business will be conducted in our language.

4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.

5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office.

6 Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any burden will be deported.

7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

8. If foreigners come here and buy land… options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

9. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.

10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted &, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.

Now, Arizona has enacted somewhat similar, although a BIT lighter laws in their state, and they are getting beat up over it by California and other states and many people.

Wait a minute, the US has similar laws already (although they are changing with the current administration to almost nothing…) that just haven’t been enforced for years! The laws that Arizona put into place were basically the enforcement of the laws of the US!

Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with people immigrating to the US! That is how the US grew up from a Native Indian Nation to what it is today! Legal immigration. What I have a problem is with people coming here illegally, using and abusing the system and demanding the rights of citizenship when they are not citizens of this nation, but still supporting their nation.

If you are an illegal alien to this nation, please go home, start the legal process of coming here if that is your desire, which includes learning English!, study the exam material, find a job that will hire you on, and wait for approval to come here before showing up.

Arizona is going the right way! I hope others follow suit!

Health Bill….

As we move even closer to a socialist regime here in the US with the voting in of the Health Reform Bill, I begin to wonder if our elected officials even listen to the People of the US? With over 50% of the Nation NOT wanting this bill passed, it is being passed. Largely without support, but purely to stoke egos and make people feel like they did something.

Reform of our medical system needs to be done, piece by piece, step by step not in one big swoop! Issues should have been resolved one step and issue at a time, without any added “pork”. Just the issues, and one at a time! In this manner there would be no uncertainty and the people would have been better able to respond and accept or decline on each issue. The President and everyone else would actually have gotten better support in this manner as well!

But, we are now going into higher taxes, more government control, where no control should probably be, and a time of more paperwork and headaches…

State of the US…

Over the last few years, I have felt more and more that the US needs to step back from the world to an extent and look at itself a little closer. We are spread out all over the world in other nation’s business, but we are not taking care of our own business here in the US.

As a nation we appear to be more worried about the sick, hungry and homeless around the world, and less so with those here in the US. We have many many people here in the US that are without work, hungry and homeless that we should be taking care of. We, as individuals and as a nation, tend to send a ton of money to other nations to help their homeless, hungry and those without work. I have no problem with helping others, and I highly recommend helping anyone we can, anywhere, but why are we forgetting our home front? Can’t a good portion of that money stay here and fix our own ailments?

Part of the reason we have so many homeless and hungry people here in the US is the cost of pretty much everything. Due to our

As our military continues to shrink, we continue to send troops to nations all over the world. We have our presence all over the world, and we try to control those areas any way we can. While our people are in these places, in many cases, dangerously so, we have many issues going on here in the US that require attention. Let’s bring our troops home, strengthen our boarders to stop attacks on our great nation, and work on ourselves instead of worrying about other nations, unless they, as a whole nation call us for help, and agree to foot the bill for us coming over to help. If a nation wants us there to help, let’s go to a process where they pay us to do so. And let’s only go if they ask us to come, not if we feel that we need to help them out to become more like us. (Being more like us is not always a good thing….)

The reason we have so many people out of work and homeless is the cost of pretty much everything in the US is too high. This is because each person wants to make more money than we probably should make. We need to look at the cost of making things, lower our wages (or freeze them were they are now), which will help in reducing the cost of producing new things. We need to then look at the cost of medical care. And not the way the President is currently doing it…. I also think that we could very much go back to more barter sales. They are there now, but it could grow!!

Many of the Christian Churches here in the US are busy sending their “Missionaries” to other nations in order to bring more people into their faith. I agree with the concept, very much… But I say we have MANY people in the US that need to hear the Word as well. Why are we sending our resources overseas, when there are many people in this nation that need us as well? What is a better way to taking the Word overseas is to train people from that Nation here, in the US, and then let them go back home and spread the Word to their people “their” way! Makes a lot more sense to me to go this way…

Many people are going overseas to adopt infants and small children. We have many, many kids in the system here in the US that are very much in the need of being adopted by a loving, caring family. We are we going overseas and taking kids from their heritage when we should be helping these kids locally? Yes, I know that the laws here in the US make it very hard to do so here in the US. But that can be fixed. We need to look at these laws and make it so that adoptions can happen in the US in a better manner, and with a bit of an easier path.

While I am not 100% behind bringing everyone home and locking down the boarders and totally closing in on ourselves, as I think International trade is important, but I do think we need to put most of our focus on US and not on other nations… Let’s regrow our nation into a strong, united nation and get all of us in the US in valid housing, be it hospitals, apartments, homes, etc, being feed daily, and cared for by the right people. Let us dig into why people feel the need to do drugs, as from where I sit right now, that is a key problem here in the US. We need to clear up the drug trafficking, and the only way to do that is to stop the users from using it, and to do that, we need to get a strong grip on why they do the drugs, and then snip that need…

Ok, sorry for the rambling and soapboxing. Had to get it off my chest… ;)

The Way of Rome…

The Roman Empire lasted for roughly 1000 years. It started between 753BC and 625BC, and ending in roughly in 467AD. Rome grew large for many reasons. One strong reason for their growth over those 1000ish years was what they brought with them as they grew. They brought a strong governmental system that allowed everyone to prosper. With this they had a justice system that was well thought out and beneficiary to all parties in that it was fair, and became the foundation for many civilized justice systems. They brought with them, through the “conquering” and acquiring many peoples, many inventions, locks and keys, quick drying cement, many weapons of war far advanced for the time, public toilets, and many other items of use.

Over time they got pretty spread out, they were in more peoples business than they knew how to handle. Their army was spread out over a VERY large amount of land. They were taxing their people pretty hard to build roads, water systems, and to feed the armies. They forced their religion (until the end) on their peoples to an extent as well.

The Roman Empire fell for many reasons. Some of them are:

  • Too spread out.
  • bad emperors
  • increasing civilization of the people of the empire
  • Roman disunity, endless infighting
  • economic decline
  • plagues
  • Revolt of the masses!
  • mass migration
  • Now, you may ask why mass migration may cause problems? Masses of people came into their Empire and just plain put such pressure on the Empire that it collapsed.

Now, we come to the United States. In the last 200+ years we have followed the same path. We have put our troops all over the world. We try to put our government system and laws all over the world. We push our religions and politics everywhere. People from all nations and ethnic groups are migrating to this nation looking for homes and success. As they come they bring their cultures and demand that we live by their cultures, just like what happened in Rome. Our economic structure is under major stress and is crumbling. We have MAJOR infighting and disunity within our Nation. We have had bad “Emperors” (on BOTH sides of the party lines!), and no good ones that fully meet the term Good Emperor in the horizon, and we have increased illnesses and issues of health.

So, like many things the US has done over the years, we have done in a bit under 300 years, what it took the Romans to do in over 1000 years. We, as a Nation of Power, are starting to die off. Years ahead of the schedule we should be dieing off if we were to have followed the Roman Empire’s foot steps.

Isn’t it time to sit back and look at what, as a Nation, we are doing to ourselves? Is it time to strategically get out of the lives of other Nations? Shouldn’t we focus on rebuilding our core National structure here in the US, spending our money and efforts here instead of around the World? Let us learn from the Romans, and not repeat what they did, at an accelerated pace! I only can pray that we are not too late already!
